Privacy policy

Unfair is a Chrome extension that listens to a Google Meet, Zoom or Teams call in your browser while you ask it to, and suggests what to say next. This page explains what it collects, why, where it goes and how long it's kept.

When Unfair collects anything

Only after you click Start listening in a call's tab, and only until you click Stop listening, close the tab or the call disconnects. It hears that one tab and your microphone. It doesn't read other tabs, your browsing history or the call page's content.

What is collected

• Your Google account email. You sign in with the Google account in Chrome. We receive your email address and whether Google has verified it, and use them to let you in, to keep your transcripts private to you, and to limit each account to one live call at a time. We don't receive your password, contacts or any other Google data.
• Call audio. Sound from the call's tab (the other participants) and from your microphone, while listening. It's streamed to our server and on to Google's Gemini API to be transcribed. Unfair doesn't store audio.
• Transcripts and suggestions. The text of what was said, labelled as you or the other side, plus the suggestions and call notes Unfair generated.
• Your brief. What you typed before the call: who you're meeting, your goals, background, what's off-limits and how you want to come across.
• Call details. The call's address from the tab's URL (for example the Meet code abc-defg-hij or a Zoom meeting number) and when the call started and ended.
• Daily usage. How much AI processing your account used today, stored with your email, to enforce a fair daily limit.
• Technical logs. When a call starts and ends, errors, and the standard request details our hosting provider records, such as IP address and browser version. These logs don't contain what anyone said, your brief or your email.

Other people on the call

Unfair hears and transcribes everyone on the call, not just you. You're responsible for telling them and for getting any consent the law where you or they are requires before you start listening. See the terms.

How it's used

To transcribe the call, to generate suggestions and notes about the call for you, and to let you download or read back your own transcript. That's all. We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, share it with data brokers or use it to train our own models.

Who processes it

• Google Cloud hosts our server (Cloud Run) and stores transcripts (Firestore) in its Tel Aviv region, me-west1.
• Google's Gemini API receives call audio and transcript text to produce transcriptions, suggestions and notes. Google processes it under the Gemini API terms.
• Google Sign-In confirms who you are.

We don't share your data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

How long it's kept

• Transcripts, suggestions, brief and call details on our servers are deleted automatically 30 days after they're recorded. Deletion usually completes within a few days of that.
• Daily usage counts are deleted automatically two days after the day they count.
• Technical logs are kept for up to 30 days.
• Audio isn't stored by Unfair.
• In your browser, Unfair keeps your brief and settings until you uninstall it, and a copy of the current call's transcript until you close Chrome or start another call.

Who can see it

A transcript can only be read back by the Google account that recorded it. People who operate Unfair can technically access stored data, and only do so to keep the service running, to investigate abuse or when the law requires it.

Your choices

• Don't start listening, or stop at any time. Nothing is collected while Unfair isn't listening.
• Download your transcript from the extension popup, or read and download your transcripts at Your calls on this site.
• Ask us to delete your stored transcripts before the 30 days are up, or to tell you what we hold about you, using the contact below.
• Revoke Unfair's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and uninstall the extension from chrome://extensions.

Google user data

Unfair's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Security

Data travels encrypted between the extension, our server and Google. Every connection is checked against Google sign-in, and each account can read only its own transcripts. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't use Unfair on calls where a leak would cause serious harm.

Children

Unfair isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Changes to what we collect or who receives it will be posted here before they take effect.
